Sometimes, we have not because we ask not.

Below is a letter to our friends and family. It is a plea for help – of any kind – prayers, financial support, encouragement.
There is a part of me that always feels bad asking for help. I am reminded that when we help others, we are helped ourselves. We’d like to extend to you this chance to be blessed.

From the inside-out, from the top to the bottom, Children’s ARK is a great cause!
We are worth supporting and the work we are doing is crucial.

Will you take some meaningful action today to support our cause? The action might be:

Reading the letter carefully
Forwarding it to someone who can help
Saying a prayer for us
Posting a word of encouragement on our Facebook page
Sending support
Spreading the word
Coming and visiting our kids
‘Adopting’ one of our amazing staff members
Becoming a corporate sponsor
Something else you feel led to do

Thank you for even considering helping an organization that is changing the world, one child at a time.

Jedd Hafer

Dear Friends and Family:

Children’s ARK has been serving kids and families who are hurting since 1994. Over those years, we have survived numerous trials, we have grown and thrived and served thousands of people in need. It has all been nothing short of miraculous.

We have been so grateful for the many ways people and organizations have supported us through all our ups and downs. Lives have been saved and changed because of your help, prayers, volunteer service and generosity.

As of August, 2010, we at Children’s ARK are facing one of the most significant trials in our history. Through a perfect storm of timing, state cuts and other circumstances, we are struggling desperately to survive a financial crisis. It will not take a lot to get us through this incredibly difficult stretch, but we cannot make it on our own.

As much as we believe in our hearts that Love never fails, and that our Mission to change the world cannot fail, we also know that we will not make it through this period without help. If you believe in our cause and you have the ability to help us in some way, we ask that you please take action and do whatever you can right now.

As always, contributions to Children’s ARK are tax deductible. We will make sure that you get full credit whether you send a check, go to the website www.childrensark.org and use a credit card through Paypal or donate an item of value.

We absolutely cherish your help and we know that we will endure this time and emerge even stronger and with the ability to do even more good in this world. Thank you!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

                                                            Sincerely,

Love Offering

Wednesday night, April 21st,
worldwide musician and storyteller
Danny Oertli will perform
his original songs and acrobatic tricks
on the guitar.

The entire night will be a celebration and introduction to the work done at Children's ARK. Kids who have struggled, kids who have been spit out by society and the system get love and healing while they learn life skills at Children's ARK.

At the end of the evening the youth group from Covenant Presbyterian Church will pass offering baskets to collect a 'Love Offering' for the ARK.

Since it for Children's ARK, we really should call it an 'UNCONDITIONAL LOVE Offering' because that is what we are all about.

We hope all of our friends and family will be able to come and enjoy the music and the stories. We always cherish your support!

 January 2010

Below is a poem written by a former resident to our wonderful clinical director. This young man is now a father – doing his best to be a great father. He has overcome so much in his life. What a gift it is to work with these young people and to see them soar!

Thank you for supporting our cause and our mission!

The Angel Who Reached Out Her Hand (To Ms. Pat)

The angel who reached out her hand
To help so many broken souls
Some failed
But I can at least say
I am one of hers – that prevailed!

This angel who shines so bright
Who cares so much
She gave me some of her own light.

She took me under her invisible wings
And was strict and stern
Is there any other way I would learn?

She took a past so dark
And filled it with light
Gave me a future brighter than any sun
And helped me change my anger and pride.

She was there for my worst and for my best
She saw what no one else saw
The gold inside this abandoned treasure chest.
She helped me transform – into this better man
This is for the angel who reached out her hand!

I love you Ms. Pat! Thank you for everything!
I will make you proud!  Love, Caleb
